Fremd has gone 9-1 against Schaumburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Vikings will head out to square off against the Saxons at 4:45 p.m. Fremd's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Schaumburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Fremd is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Barrington, who was ranked 18th at the time (Fremd was ranked ninth). The Vikings took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fillies/Broncos on Wednesday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, while Schaumburg put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Hoffman Estates. The Saxons blew past the Hawks 10-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Saxons considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Alexa Evans made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Jordan Murtaugh was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Francheska Manding was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Schaumburg lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoffman Estates didn't launched any home runs.

Schaumburg's record now sits at 8-14. As for Fremd, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-4.

Everything went Fremd's way against Schaumburg when the teams last played back in April, as Fremd made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
