The Edon Bombers will face off against the Fairview Apaches at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Edon will bounce into Friday's match after beating Holgate, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Bombers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Bombers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Kyler Sapp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Edon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kadin Stantz, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Radabaugh, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Edon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fairview got themselves on the board against Hicksville on Thursday, but Hicksville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Aces with a sharp 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Apaches in their matchups with the Aces: they've now won four in a row.
Anthony Singer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Fairview got a big performance out of Drayden Grinnell-Dennis, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Mack, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Fairview pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Edon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Fairview struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edon might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Fairview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Bombers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
