North Harrison has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Silver Creek Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but North Harrison had to settle for a 58-56 defeat against Corydon Central. North Harrison has struggled against Corydon Central recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 74-46 win over Austin. Given Silver Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Austin is ranked 194th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Silver Creek found their leader in underclassman Kasen Daeger, who scored 24 points. The contest was Daeger's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Brandon Hunter was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 11 assists and 5 rebounds.
Heritage Hills' win bumped their season record to 0-0 while North Harrison's defeat dropped theirs to 0-2.
North Harrison came up short against Silver Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 47-37. Can North Harrison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
