Patriot - Stripes recap Sept. 26, 2012
Columbia's Tristen Rindfleisch recorded the longest rushing play in Patriot - Stripes this season in his game against Buckeye last week. Rindfleisch ran for 64 yards on the play and finished with 75 on the day as his team defeated the Bucks.
Columbia moved up to 403 from 504 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jason Ward's team was able to make the jump by beating Buckeye 28-14.
Roger Engle and Chad Anderson gave Clearview a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Engle threw for 162 yards and one touchdown, while Anderson ran for 157 yards. Teammate Engle added to the ground attack by rushing for two yards.
Jay Banyasz provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Raiders beat Billy Burke's team. He completed 12 passes for 146 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 82 yards. Banyasz's favorite target this week was Michael Boey, who caught four passes for 61 yards.
Clearview's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Clippers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Engle has thrown for 693 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Gerrell Williams has 11 catches for 283 yards. Anderson leads the league in rushing with 568 yards.
The top two teams in Patriot - Stripes will face off this week when first place Oberlin takes on second place Columbia. Last week, Oberlin defeated Firelands, while Columbia bested the Bucks.
The The Phoenix extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Falcons, 28-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the Oberlin.
