The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mariemont Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Madeira, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-47 loss to Indian Hill. While losing is never fun, Madeira can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 586th, while Indian Hill is ranked 191st).
Despite the loss, Madeira got a solid performance out of Will Manning, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Hopewell, who scored nine points.
Madeira struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Mariemont's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Taylor. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Madeira's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Mariemont, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.
