Make it seven blowout wins for the Battle Creek Academy Tigers this season. They put the hurt on Marshall Academy with a sharp 44-21 victory on Thursday. The win was just what Battle Creek Academy needed coming off of a 55-16 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading Battle Creek Academy to victory were Olivia Keller and Sofia Keller. Keller dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds, while Keller dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Keller is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Katie Grentz, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Marshall Academy saw an underclassman step up: Malia Taylor scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiah Poindexter, who scored five points.
Battle Creek Academy pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marshall Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Factoryville Christian the next time they take the court. Marshall Academy will head out to face Factoryville Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Battle Creek Academy will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
