Lebanon let Ella Tuebner and Sophie Abrams run wild. Tuebner went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Abrams went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Abrams a new career-high. Jane Leuzinger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lebanon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sycamore only posted an OBP of .263.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Lakota East nor West Clermont made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Thunderhawks skirted past the Wolves 3-2.
Kaleigh Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Amber Munoz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Haley Thompson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.
Lakota East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Lebanon, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Lebanon's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lakota East, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lebanon continue to outrun the ball?
Lebanon came up short against Lakota East in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, falling 3-0. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
