This season hasn't been kind to the Sacred Heart Gremlins, who are still winless after their ninth game. They took a serious blow against Leeton on Tuesday, falling 61-15. Sacred Heart was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.
Despite the defeat, Sacred Heart saw an underclassman step up: Paisley Carl scored six points.
Sacred Heart's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Leeton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Sacred Heart will head out on the road to face off against Weaubleau at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weaubleau presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sacred Heart in Missouri (Weaubleau is ranked 171st, while Sacred Heart is ranked 505th). Leeton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Macks Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Macks Creek is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
