The Princess Anne Cavaliers will venture away from home to face off against the Manteo Redskins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Princess Anne has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Princess Anne's win against Tallwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cavaliers won by a run and slipped past the Lions 6-5. That's two games straight that the Cavaliers have won by just one run.

Walt Clevenger looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Reid Vandergrift was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Xavier Doon, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Manteo never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Pasquotank County with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Redskins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.
Trevor Sawyer tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Drew Brown was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Sawyer, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
Manteo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasquotank County only managed one hit.
Manteo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Princess Anne, their record now sits at 5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Princess Anne has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Manteo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
