The Kokomo Wildkats were not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 21-14 win over Jay County.
Kokomo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reis Beard led the charge by rushing for 166 yards. Kokomo also got a significant boost from Darrian Story Jr., who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Despite the loss, Jay County still got an impressive performance from Bryce Wenk, who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown.
Kokomo's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Jay County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Kokomo will be playing at home against Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marion is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Jay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
