North Shore is a perfect 9-0 against King since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with North Shore sitting on seven straight wins and King on six.
On Friday, North Shore didn't have too much trouble with Atascocita as they won 47-28. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Eagles are ranked 44th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Shore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hezekiah Johnson, who rushed for 70 yards and four touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Johnson a new career-high. Jaylen Bocard was in the mix too, providing North Shore with two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Shore was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 293 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, King took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 65-35 victory over Kingwood. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 30 points or more this season.
King's win came from a few key players North Shore will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Timothy Potts, who threw for 274 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. Antwon Sanders helped Potts out on the ground, rushing for 143 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to King's defensive line and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Xander Ancira and Xavier Williams, who racked up four sacks between them.
North Shore's record is now 7-1. As for King, their record now sits at an identical 7-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. North Shore has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 292.8 passing yards per game. King, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 334.4 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Everything came up roses for North Shore against King in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-14 win. In that game, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
