The Wilkinson County Wildcats were the 46-39 winner over the Natchez Bulldogs when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Wilkinson County was dealt a 61-12 defeat at the hands of Natchez on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Wilkinson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Natchez is ranked 106th).
Natchez was led to victory by FAITH GUTTER and ZAMONIE WILSON . GUTTER scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals, while WILSON scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of DOMONIQUE DOSS, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Wilkinson County and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Natchez, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilkinson County will take on McComb at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Natchez, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Vicksburg at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th. Vicksburg is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
