The Yorktown Patriots lost against the McLean Highlanders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Yorktown took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Yorktown in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Yorktown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andrew Maria. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Maria has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Austin Barbieri was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for McLean, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Yorktown will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Generals at 5:45 p.m. on February 5th. McLean does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
