It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Peachtree Academy Panthers can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Warriors on the road and fell 66-31. While losing is never fun, Peachtree Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while Horizon Christian Academy is ranked 162nd).
It was another big night for Nyla Black, who scored 25 points along with six assists and five steals for Horizon Christian Academy. Black has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Megan Holcombe was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Peachtree Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Horizon Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Peachtree Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Horizon Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
