The Crestview Bulldogs can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They really took it to Milton for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-22 win on the road. The score was close at the half, but Crestview pulled away in the second half with 42 points.
Crestview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Patrick Rodgers, who rushed for 113 yards and four touchdowns, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. Nathaniel Nocher was another key contributor, rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Although Milton took the loss, they still got scores from Tate Williams, Malik Cobb, and Bryson Brown.
Crestview's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Milton, their defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestview will challenge Leon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Milton, they will head out on the road to face off against Pace at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pace presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Milton in Florida (Pace is ranked 63rd, while Milton is ranked 361st).
