Softball Recap: Ider Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Sand Mountain

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ider). They came out on top against the North Sand Mountain Bison by a score of 19-15 on Thursday. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 6-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ider got a massive performance out of Makinley Traylor, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Traylor has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kahlan Greeson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple.

The win made it two in a row for Ider and bumps their season record up to 27-9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for North Sand Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.

Ider and North Sand Mountain could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Hornets will challenge Plainview at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (138 vs. 34). Meanwhile, North Sand Mountain (ranked 226th) will meet Etowah (ranked 109th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
