Timnath has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  challenge the Platte Valley Broncos at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Given that  both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  matchup.
 After soaring to a 72-point  win in their last game, Timnath came back down to earth  on Monday. They fell just short of The Academy by a score of  55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat Timnath has suffered  yet this season.
 Despite their  loss, Timnath saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Tanner Mock, who  scored 17 points along with three  steals, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Mock has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Max Roselle, who  scored ten points along with nine  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Timnath  were working as a unit and  finished the game with 16  assists. That's the most  assists they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, Platte Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Forge Christian by a score of  62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
 Like Timnath, Platte Valley lost despite seeing results from several players.  Braylon Edstrom led the charge by  scoring 18 points along with five  steals. Edstrom hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was  Talyn Short, who  scored 18 points along with six  assists.
 Timnath's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Platte Valley, they have  fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now  at 3-6.
This contest  is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor:  Timnath  have been smashing the glass this season,  having  only  averaged 33.6  rebounds per game. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 21.2  rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Timnath took a serious blow against Platte Valley  when the teams last played  back in January of 2023, falling  73-43. Can Timnath avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
