The Goldwater Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Agua Fria 75-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Goldwater still got an impressive performance from Demarion Trask, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jon Yaskowitz was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Agua Fria found their leader in underclassman Xavier Daniels, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Daniels has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Daniels jr, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Goldwater bumped their record down to 5-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Agua Fria, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldwater will square off against Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peoria is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Agua Fria's road trip will continue as they head out to face Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Deer Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
