The Campbell County Camels are ranked highly in their home state, and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks. Campbell County received a tough blow as they fell 59-42 to Skutt Catholic.
Campbell County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylie Neary, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Neary scored a full 33.3% of Campbell County's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cami Curtis, who scored ten points.
Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Skutt Catholic, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Campbell County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Crean Lutheran at 9:00 a.m. on December 19th. Crean Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 92nd in California, while Campbell County is ranked sixth in Wyoming). Skutt Catholic will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Roncalli Catholic on January 4, 2024.
