It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Indian Creek Braves ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They secured a 60-55 W over Westfield. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Indian Creek to victory were Lauren Foster and Faith Wiseman. Foster scored 17 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Wiseman dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Wiseman is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Sichting, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Westfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lindsey Van dyke, who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Crockett, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Indian Creek's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Westfield, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
Indian Creek will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Putnam at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. South Putnam will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Indian Creek is ranked 47th). As for Westfield, they will head out on the road to take on Brownsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
