The Rio Americano Raiders''s game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 20-19 win over Fairfield.
Rio Americano's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keilen Gilbert, who threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Thorne Watson also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Rio Americano's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Fairfield, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Rio Americano will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Vista del Lago at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Vista del Lago knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Rio Americano likes a good challenge. Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
