The Life Christian Academy Eagles can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They had just enough and edged Klahowya out 41-38. The victory was just what Life Christian Academy needed coming off of a 54-24 loss in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, Klahowya saw an underclassman step up: Bailey O'Brien almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Spandler, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Life Christian Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Klahowya, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Life Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vashon Island at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The timing isn't great for Vashon Island: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Life Christian Academy has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. Klahowya will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Charles Wright at 5:15 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Charles Wright is ranked 254th, while Klahowya is ranked 252nd).
