Utica came into Tuesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 57-40 win over the Lakeview Huskies on Tuesday. The Chieftains' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Utica got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayden Hirmiz out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Javeion Redditt, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Utica was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Utica's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lakeview, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Utica will venture away from home to take on Anchor Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeview, they will head out to square off against Clawson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
