Softball Recap: Arlington Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Southwind last Tuesday, Arlington came back down to earth. Arlington fell 14-11 to Ripley on Wednesday.

Tatum Bittick and Hadley Edwards stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bittick scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Edwards went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits Bittick has posted since back in April of 2024. Lillian Hatch also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Even though they lost, Arlington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Arlington's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Ripley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1-1.

Looking ahead, Arlington will take on Jackson South Side at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arlington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Ripley, they will head out to challenge Houston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
