After flying high against the Harmony School of Innovation Wolves last Saturday, the Deming Wildcats came back down to earth. Deming was dealt a 52-19 loss at the hands of Centennial on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, Deming couldn't push the score so high this time.
Centennial had a senior duo take command as Ozias Aguilar scored 11 points along with seven assists and four steals and Mikai Schuette scored 14 points. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Keaton Petermeier, who scored five points along with six steals.
Deming's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
Deming will head out on the road to face off against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roswell at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
