It was a good run, but The Deuel Cardinals unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rapid City Christian.
Rapid City Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Simon Kieffer, who threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson Kieffer was another key contributor, picking up 143 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Deuel's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Rapid City Christian, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2.
Deuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rapid City Christian will be staying on the road on November 3rd to face off against Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Hot Springs is ranked seventh, while Rapid City Christian is ranked 16th).
