After a string of three wins, the Evergreen Christian Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were outmatched by Highland at home and fell 82-53. Evergreen Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Highland apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Shelton, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidney Burris, who scored ten points.

Evergreen Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fairfax Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Fairfax Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Highland, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Grace Brethren Christian at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Grace Brethren Christian is ranked sixth in Maryland, while Highland is ranked 13th in Virginia).
