Daphne faced Gulf Shores in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 2-1. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Daphne's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzie Valentine, who had 11 digs. Isabella Charlton was another key player, getting 11 digs and one assist.

Daphne's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Gulf Shores, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

Daphne has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Baldwin County on the 15th. As for Gulf Shores, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Fairhope on the 16th.
