Baseball Recap: Pensacola's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pensacola and Atmore Christian pushed the score to 16-6 the last time they played Atmore Christian, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Tigers walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Rams. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Not much got past Rupert Sproles, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Atmore Christian off the board. Sproles has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on CHRISZAVEN Jones, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Aquantis Mobley, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Pensacola now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Atmore Christian, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Pensacola is taking a road trip to take on Crossroad Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Atmore Christian, they will host West Florida Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
