After flying high against the Frankfort Hot Dogs on Friday, the Lebanon Tigers came back down to earth. Lebanon opened the new year with a less-than-successful 42-29 defeat to Bethesda Christian. Lebanon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bethesda Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Lebanon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Boling, who scored nine points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Vanaman, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Kenzie Fulks was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds for Bethesda Christian. The match was Fulks' third in a row with at least ten points. Jayla Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Lebanon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Bethesda Christian, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Lebanon will take on Tri-West Hendricks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bethesda Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Park Tudor at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Park Tudor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while Bethesda Christian is ranked 151st).
