Fans got a thrill when Connor Mateer and Ty McGee connected against Mountain View. The connection went for 57 yards, the longest such play in 3A Metro - West this season.
Summit was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Tigers defeated Battle Mountain 44-0.
Mateer was a passing and rushing force as D'Evelyn topped the Mountain Lions. He completed 18 passes for 359 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 61 yards. Mateer's key target this week was McGee, who caught 8 passes for 176 yards.
James Willis threw for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 9-10 with 0 interceptions.

Greg Pearson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 165 yards as the Jaguars beat Mountain View. Teammate Ian Lewis added to the ground attack by rushing for 60 yards.
McGee was the best receiver in 3A Metro - West this week as D'Evelyn topped Bart Mayes' team. Charlie Davis helped D'Evelyn's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 127 yards.
Jeremy Bennett's team scaled the state rankings by moving to 99 from 130 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Jaguars were able to make move up by defeating the Mountain Lions 45-41.
