The Bridge to Independence Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 63 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seabreeze. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), Bridge to Independence still had to take the loss.
Bridge to Independence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydan Jeantinord, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Jeantinord hasn't dropped below 19 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock D'Alessandro, who scored six points along with 12 assists and six rebounds.
John Dunlap was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks for Seabreeze. Another player making a difference was Aiden Bailey, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Bridge to Independence and nudges their season record down to 11-13. As for Seabreeze, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17.
Bridge to Independence's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully Lake Region focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Wednesday. As for Seabreeze, they will face off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Augustine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sandcrabs in Florida (the Yellow Jackets are ranked 234th, while the Sandcrabs are ranked 497th).
