The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks are taking a road trip to  challenge the Buena Vista Bison  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Lincoln Southwest is headed into the  contest out to prove that what happened against Bellevue West  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Silver Hawks were  outmatched by the Thunderbirds and fell  44-7. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no  points scored by either team from that point forward.
 Despite the  defeat, Lincoln Southwest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Thatcher Shelton rushed for 73 yards and one  touchdown on only six carries.
 Meanwhile, Buena Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They had to suffer through  a    63-0 loss at the hands of Lincoln Northeast.
 Lincoln Southwest's  defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5. As for Buena Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
 Everything came up roses for Lincoln Southwest against Buena Vista when the teams last played  back in October of 2024, as the  squad secured  a  52-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Hawks since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
