Basketball Recap: Plattsmouth Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Mila Wehrbein and Averi Winters

Plattsmouth lost against Cedar Catholic back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Plattsmouth Blue Devils took a hard 63-47 fall against the Cedar Catholic Trojans.

Plattsmouth's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Averi Winters, who posted 18 points and three steals, and Mila Wehrbein, who had 11 points and six rebounds. Winters has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolie Dix, who put up six points and three steals.

Cedar Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Walter led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Lauren Bernecker was another key player, putting up ten points along with six boards and five steals.

Plattsmouth's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cedar Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Plattsmouth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-21 victory against Conestoga on the 3rd. As for Cedar Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-51 loss against Dakota Valley on the 3rd.
