The Community School of Davidson Spartans fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Bradford Prep Bears on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Bears 95-89. Community School of Davidson's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Austin Moran and Dermot Lowry certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Moran scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Lowry scored 29 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Darrell Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Bradford Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Jones, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Micah Jones was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists.
Community School of Davidson has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Bradford Prep, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community School of Davidson will square off against the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ the King and the Spartans are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Bradford Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
