On Friday, the Danville Bears faced the Williamstown Blue Devils in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Danville came out on top against Williamstown by a score of 67-54. Winning may never get old, but Danville sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Williamstown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evan Bailey. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bailey has scored all season. Colby Laggner was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 12 rebounds.
Danville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Williamstown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Danville will head out on the road to challenge Bellows Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Williamstown, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Twinfield at 7:00 p.m.
