This season hasn't been kind to the Harding University Rams, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piedmont.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Piedmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily Polk, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. The match was Polk's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Baucom, who scored 21 points.
Harding University bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Piedmont, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.
Harding University has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Nansemond River at 1:00 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Piedmont, they will head out on the road to face off against York Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. York Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Piedmont in their respective states (York Prep is ranked 116th in South Carolina, while Piedmont is ranked 421st in North Carolina).
