The Parklane Academy Pioneers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Leake Academy Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on February 14th. Parklane Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Leake Academy will be coming in after a loss.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Parklane Academy had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took down the Buccaneers 50-35.
Parklane Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoe Alford, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Georgia Lindsey, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Leake Academy pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bayou Academy. Leake Academy has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Despite the loss, Leake Academy had strong showings from Marleigh Myers, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, and Anna Morgan Young, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Codi Breedlove was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Parklane Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Leake Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-7.
