Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Patterson Tigers walked away with it. They came out on top against Vista del Lago by a score of 28-19 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Patterson who now have six in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Jeremiah Lugo, who rushed for 195 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Coby Joseph also helped out as he racked up 105 rushing yards.
Patterson has yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Buhach Colony and 2-8 Modesto (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.5% over those games). As for Vista del Lago, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
Patterson will square off against Escalon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escalon will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. Vista del Lago does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
