Downey entered their tilt with South El Monte on Tuesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the South El Monte Eagles with a sharp 14-6 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Leilani Kaiwi Gonzales was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kaiwi Gonzales was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Delilah Navarro was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Juliet Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Downey lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Downey pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for South El Monte, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.
