The Las Animas Trojans will face off against the Swink Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Swink took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Las Animas, who comes in off a win.
On Friday, everything came up roses for Las Animas against Rocky Ford as the team secured a 54-8 victory. Considering the Trojans have won six contests by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Orion Martinez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 215 yards and one score on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Ethridge, who picked up 46 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Swink fell victim to Springfield and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Longhorns. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Longhorns: they've now lost three in a row.
Las Animas pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points over those games. As for Swink, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Everything came up roses for Las Animas against Swink in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-12 win. In that game, the Trojans amassed a halftime lead of 32-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
