Two dominant signal callers in Parker Zikmund and Landon Roth are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Central City Bison will be playing in front of their home fans against the Milford Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Central City barely beat Lincoln Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bison claimed a resounding 35-8 victory over the Crusaders. The Bison's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Central City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Corbin Kyes led the charge by rushing for 148 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Kyes has posted since back in October of 2024. Another pass catcher making a difference was Wyatt Dent, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Central City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quinn Jensen and Will Poland.
Meanwhile, Milford got the win against Minden on Friday by a conclusive 35-12. With the Eagles ahead 28-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Milford's win came from a few key players Central City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Isaac Roth, who picked up 109 receiving yards and two TDs. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced two fumbles, made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defended one pass. Zeb Reil was another key pass catcher, picking up 100 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Milford didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Minden to a completion percentage of just 47.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Roth and Drake Roth, who each logged one passes deflected. Milford hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.58 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Central City's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Milford, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Central City has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 164.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 165.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Central City against Milford in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-7 victory. In that contest, the Bison amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
