It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Summit ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Monday. They came out on top against the Centennial Cougars by a score of  12-9. Summit's victory was all the more impressive since Centennial was averaging only 3.96 runs allowed on the season.
 Summit got a great performance from  Addison Johnson as she  tossed five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. Johnson has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Ashlyn Easley, who  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Anne Marie Richards, who  went 3-for-5 with three  RBI and two  doubles.
 Summit has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record  this season. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit is on the road again  on Wednesday to play Dickson County. Summit knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Dickson County likes a good challenge. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Page at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Page will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight.
