Cathedral Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played St. Francis, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Ramblers put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 8-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Ramblers, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Derick Friedman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other pitching news, Frank Thomas looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Davin Friedman was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was AJ Sirianni, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Cathedral Prep pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for St. Francis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cathedral Prep will challenge Erie at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Francis, they will square off against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
