The Elbert Bulldogs will take on the Cotopaxi Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cotopaxi took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Elbert, who comes in off a win.
Elbert is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Cripple Creek-Victor 16-5 on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Elbert got a massive performance out of Matt Dooley, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Dooley has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Eli Cornell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Elbert always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Cotopaxi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Cripple Creek-Victor, falling 9-2.
Cotopaxi saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Dunn, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Cotopaxi's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Elbert, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Elbert has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cotopaxi struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
