Assumption and Holy Cross are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Assumption got the win against Cooper by a conclusive 16-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Lauren Satterly made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lauren Campisano was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Ashley Jones also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Assumption always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Holy Cross, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Fairdale with a sharp 15-1 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their one-run performance the game before.
Like Assumption, Holy Cross also got a great game from a two-way player: Breelyn Willett. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Willett was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alyssa Priddy was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Fries, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Assumption pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-10 record.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Assumption hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Holy Cross struggles in that department as they've averaged .325. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Assumption took their victory against Holy Cross in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
