The Laguna Beach Breakers lost against the San Clemente Tritons last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Laguna Beach took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Clemente. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Laguna Beach has scored all season.
San Clemente was led to victory by Christian Fernandez and Porter Hansen. Fernandez scored 18 points, while Hansen scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Hansen's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Whidden, who scored seven points along with three blocks.
Laguna Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for San Clemente, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laguna Beach will be home for the holidays to greet Aliso Niguel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Aliso Niguel is ranked 172nd, while Laguna Beach is ranked 158th). As for San Clemente, they will play host again and welcome Dana Hills, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
