After two games on the road, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood is heading back home. They will take on the Oakes Tornadoes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood earned a 47-37 victory over Enderlin.
Meanwhile, Oakes put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They really took it to Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-35 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Oakes has posted since November 30, 2023.
Oakes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Thorpe out in front who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brianna Schmitz, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
Wyndmere/Lidgerwood's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Oakes, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
Wyndmere/Lidgerwood took a serious blow against Oakes when the teams last played back in February of 2020, falling 64-37. Thankfully for Wyndmere/Lidgerwood, Jaida Seyer (who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
