The Springfield Tigers will take on the Waynedale Golden Bears in a tournament on Wednesday. Springfield will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Springfield will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Western Reserve, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Tigers blew past the Blue Devils 17-4 on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Caitlin Blankenship looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Gina Romeo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with six RBI, two triples, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Allen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Waynedale lost 13-1 to Hillsdale on Monday. The Golden Bears have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Waynedale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Rodhe, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Waynedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Springfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like Waynedale struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
