Basketball Recap: Leake County Piles Up the Points Against Stringer

Leake County won the last time they faced Stringer and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Leake County Gators breezed by the Stringer Red Devils to the tune of 66-20. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Leake County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davion Towsend, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Towsend is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. LaTavean Fortune was another key player, going 7 for 11 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Leake County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Stringer, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leake County has already played their next game (against Mount Olive), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
